    What opportunities are available for university students or recent graduates?

    Internship
    Internships are offered in a variety of departments, including Animation, Story, Art, Technical Direction,Production Management, Marketing,
    Engineering, Research, Media Systems, Finance, and Editorial.

    •  Most Interns work alongside Pixar employees and contribute as full members of the team.
    •  To qualify as an Intern you must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program, or have
       graduated within the year the internship commences.
    •  Animation and Story Interns learn within a classroom setting, with the assistance of dedicated teachers and mentors.
    •  Technical Director Interns are undergraduate or graduate students who will be returning to school upon completion of the internship.

    Internships last for 12 weeks or 6 months during Summer, Fall, and Winter terms (or the duration of an internship can vary depending on the
    department and term. Since not all departments may offer internships throughout the year, it's always best to refer to our website for the
    most up-to-date information.)

    Residencies
    Residencies are typically offered in Technical Direction or Studio Tools.

    Residents:
    • Work alongside Pixar employees as full members of the team
    • Are recent graduates from a Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. program
    • Work for a 1-year term starting in winter or summer, coinciding with school graduation dates

    Pixar Technical Undergraduate Program participants:
    • Take a 10-week summer course in Technical Direction
    • Receive direct mentorship and training in a hands-on classroom environment
    • Are typically undergraduates at the early stages of their career

    How many interns and/or residents do you typically have in your program?
    We generally have 60-80 interns during our summer session and between 15-30 interns and/or residents during the fall and winter sessions.
    The amount of interns and residents varies depending on studio needs.

    Are your internships and residencies paid?
    Yes, all of our internships and residencies are paid positions.

    What perks are offered to interns and residents?
    Educational and recreational classes through Pixar University On-site fitness center, swimming pool, cafe, and state-of-the-art theatre and
    screening rooms for new release films. Guest lectures specifically geared to exposing interns and residents to
    various departments within the studio.

    How and when should I apply?
    All of our internships and resident openings will be posted on our website typically 3-6 months prior the start of the term.
    Applications are typically due 2-4 months prior to the start of the internship or residency. Students should visit Pixar's website for
    specific instructions on how to apply and information on application deadlines. If you visit our site and don't see any positions of
    interest listed, we encourage you to check back at a later date. International students who can show U.S. work eligibility are
    always welcome to apply.

    May I have an informational interview? I am a student who is doing a report and would like
    to interview an animator or technical artist.

    Due to production demands and the large number of requests we receive, we cannot accommodate requests for informational interviews.
