Media Systems Engineer
Systems
Responsibilities
- Maintain Avid Editorial Suites, ProTools systems, and Final Cut Pro Editing Systems
- Work with hardware, software and production teams to develop and implement improvements to editorial infrastructure
- Train and support users of editorial departments
- Troubleshoot complex systems to module level and follow through with repair and workarounds to avoid downtime, includes problems involving time code, synchronization, signal path, digital video and audio, and machine control
- Develop and document operation and maintenance procedures, tools and schedules
- Evaluate and qualify relevant new technologies and process suggestions
- Assist other video, audio and film engineering staff as needed
Requirements
- 5+ years work history in film and high-end editorial environments
- In-depth experience with Avid Media Composer and Film Composer and Unity Shared Storage essential, Final Cut Pro experience a plus
- Bachelor's degree in relevant area or equivalent experience
- Cross-platform computer literacy helpful, knowledge of Mac OSX necessary
- Knowledge of digital video and audio routing systems a plus
- Experience in Recording Studios a plus
- Ability to collaborate with team members including cross training, project planning, systems integration, and documentation
- Able to prioritize and respond to multiple end-user requests in a dynamic production environment
- The ability to follow through with individual assignments and initiatives is crucial
- Attention to detail
- Must be able to perform well both independently and with a team, especially under pressure
