Canal+ Secures Broadcasting Rights to Five Disney and Disney/Pixar Animated FeaturesCanal+ has signed an agreement with The Walt Disney Company (France) for the exclusive broadcast of five animated feature films.This exclusive agreement will allow Canal+ to offer to its subscribers over the next four years the exclusive broadcast of five recent classic animated features - two from Walt Disney Pictures and three from Walt Disney Pictures /Pixar Animation Studios: Pocahontas, a Native American legend by Mike Gabriel, Eric Goldberg (made by Walt Disney Pictures) The Hunchback of Notre Dame by Gary Trousdale, Kirk Wise (made by Walt Disney Pictures) A Bug's Life directed by John Lasseter, Andrew Stanton A Walt Disney Pictures presentation of a Pixar Animation Studios film Toy Story directed by John Lasseter A Walt Disney Pictures presentation of a Pixar Animation Studios film Toy Story 2 directed by John Lasseter, Ash Brannon, Lee Unkrich A Walt Disney Pictures presentation of a Pixar Animation Studios film Canal+ is therefore the only French terrestrial TV channel able to offer exclusively to its subscribers these five animated feature films, benefiting from the know-how of the prestigious Walt Disney and Pixar Animation Studios. These five films will also benefit from receiving their first broadcast on a French terrestrial television channel. Canal+, the film channel, broadcasts 400 films each year of which 320 are exclusive premieres, that is to say on average 30 French or international films per month as exclusive premieres.
